I always cried when I saw F-16s and now F-35s, especially when they do touch-and-gos around Chittenden County; earlier this week, as I drove south on I89 over the Winooski, three F-35s came in low to land at the Wing, and I was doubly-struck with pride in and gratitude for VTANG and Vermont Army Guard because now I have so much more context for the work all service people do and the conditions they survive--and challenge and change.

"Thank you for your service, both within the Army and as a retired CW4 writing this fundamentally important memoir."

Struck with pride in and gratitude for service people after reading this memoir.
